Tulip Poplar (#03)
Native to Georgia, this tree bears the wood of choice for use in organs. Its tall and rapid growth is a function of its shade intolerance; it grows much slower in the sun. This tree species is a major honey plant, receiving mixed reviews as a table honey but favorably regarded by bakers. Nectar is produced in the orange parts of the flowers.
