Bald Cypress

Native to the Mississippi Delta region and other areas of the lower coastal United States including Georgia, this tree is recognized by its pronounced “knees” surrounding the trunk.  As it grows primarily in wetlands, the lumber is extremely water resistant.  When clumped in forests it creates a productive ecosystem.
