Black Tupelo

Black Tupelo (#08)

Native to eastern North America, this tree is cultivated as an ornamental tree in parks and large gardens, where it is often used as a specimen or shade tree.  It is best grown in sheltered but not crowded positions.  Hollow sections of the trunks were formerly used as bee gums by beekeepers and the sap is a major source of wild honey.
